What are the options that we use here at Quick Kit Build
As mentioned above we provide a variety of different extension options for our customers. Some are perfect for cost-effective extensions whilst those who may have a bit of extra cash may opt for a Velux Home Extension with temperature regulated windows.
SIP Panel Extensions
SIP panels are made from two layers of a stressed and stretched outer layer that encompasses a layer of thick insulation in between. This helps maintain an extremely strong structure whilst also ensuring that the extension will remain insulated throughout the cooler months. SIP Panels are high-performance building systems and are cost-effective solutions for extensions with a quick installation time due to the fact that they are prefabricated off-site and will also allow for a very easy and quick installation for our team. SIP Panels are versatile and can be used with a variety of different external cladding systems such as slate, tiles and other materials to suit the external appearance you are going for with your new extension.
What are the advantages of SIP Panels?
One of the main benefits of choosing to go for a SIP Panel extension is the drastic saving in cost that this can achieve for you and the extension. In 2012 a study outlined that a home extension that would be around 906 square feet in size would cost around £17,000 and around 2 weeks to finish whereas a traditional brick built extension would take around 3 months to complete and cost around £45,000! It is important to note that these prices will have changed since 2012 but the point stays the same as they are more than 50% cheaper than a brick built extensions. Another great thing about SIP Panel extensions is that because of the insulation properties of the panels SIPs are able to produce a U Value which is as low as 0.15 meaning that the extension will be great throughout the winter months and able to retain heat so that you will not have to spend excessive amounts on heating when the cooler months set in.
Guardian extensions are commonly known as one of the most efficient extensions out there and similar to SIP Panels they are fully built off-site so that the installation time is reduced and as a result costs are also reduced. The Guardian Extensions is the future of home extensions and uses the most advanced building systems that perform extremely well in terms of efficiency. The extension itself is able to achieve a U Value which is as a low as 0.10 and is able to save you and your home a lot of energy. The extension can be customised to suit the individual homes needs and requirements. Because they are modular in design the extension can be used in conjunction with a variety of panels such as the Kingsan Tek Panels to create a truly amazing and astounding extension space.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of Guardian Extensions?
The Guardian Extension is pre-assembled off-site and will be installed and post assembled at your home. This means that as a type of small home extension it is a faster modern method of construction that has a wide range of colours and finishes. The extension provides an extremely spacious and open plan area for you and your family to enjoy whilst remaining modern, elegant and a great entertainment space. Because of the way the extensions are built we are able to fully tailor the extension so that it fits in with the current style of your home and any requirements that you may have. Another great thing is that the Guardian Extension is fully LABC Approved
Velux Home Extensions
The Velux Home Extension is extremely similar in construction to the SIP Extensions mentioned above and is able to provide amazing amounts of light into home extensions setting the bar for light, airy and truly astounding small home extensions. Because Velux is Europe’s Largest manufacturer of home windows they are always improving the technology and standards of windows.
